What is Grailing You .... Part 1

Hello Folks,

Well ... we have some catching up to do ... I'll post three entries, one right after the other, to get us caught up ... it's been a wild one .... I left you holding two thoughts ... one about speech development at Font de Gaume and the other about safe keeping at Beynac ...

Not too far from Beynac and Font de Gaume is the village of Le Roques-Gegeac .... it is literally built into the side of the limestone cliffs overlooking the Dordogne River ... it is believed homo-sapien were the first to dwell here because of the 'brain power' needed to construct access ... gradually modern man subsumed and adapted what was there ...

It'a beautiful location and it is a steep hike to the top of the village where you can overlook the slow moving Dordogne ... they have boat rides here ... a large, low draft vessel that holds about 40 folks and they take you up and down the river for an hour or so ...

It was from the top of the village looking down at the boat that I saw the grail guardian from Belgium boarding the boat with a backpack ... I watched the boat depart and head upstream ... I quickly opened my guide book and folded out the map ... the next town upstream was Domme ... the old Medieval fortified town perched atop a cliff wall ... I was reasonably sure that was his destination ... and would therefore be my next stop ...

The reason I came here in the first place is that to access the cliffside caves here require someone smart enough to construct access to them .... there is no natural path to them ... and it is close enough to Font de Gaume for someone on the run to seek sanctuary in .... again I am going to ask you to hold that thought until the next day's exploration ... I know ... this is asking too much ... but hang in there ....

After a day of cliff side exploring, I had worked up quite a hunger and thirst .... it was sated and quenched with a saumon fume appetizer ... a grilled tuna steak with roasted cherry tomatoes ... and a baked apple with ice cream ... with a cheese plate and a fine regional red wine .... who knew grail hunting could be this fattening ... ah ... fulfilling ....

To quote from verse 1337 of the Krome Koan,

' ... men are like fine wine ... they should be both kept in a dark cellar until they mature enough to have dinner with ... '

 .... belching like a Cro Magnon ....
